Tarana Community Farmers Market
December 24, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Tarana Community Farmers Market is held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 9am – 1pm on the grounds of the Rural Fire Service shed at Tarana, a tiny village situated mid way between Bathurst, Lithgow and
Oberon in the central west of NSW.
It is a community and fresh food market – the primary purpose is to provide the opportunity for purchase of products direct from local farms and kitchens, where the produce is grown, livestock raised and artisan products are made. Meet the farmers, learn about how their food is produced, and take home some delicious treats.
Established in 2015 the market has grown from its humble beginnings to a thriving monthly event with over 50 stall holders. Products range from farm meats, free range eggs, fruit and vegetables, jams and preserves, cakes and sweets, breads and salami, local wines to live alpacas. Shady umbrellas provide a place to sit and relax while listening to the buskers and enjoying locally produced market food and coffee.
The markets also have another important function. Money raised by the markets is used in support of the Tarana Rural Fire Service (RFS), or put towards other community projects. The Tarana Community Farmers Market proudly supports the Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.
Take the picturesque drive to Tarana and enjoy the thriving local market, and while you are there sample the hospitality of other local attractions – The Tarana Hotel, Mumma Snow’s Country Kitchen or pay a visit to Longwood Studio.
